Medical procedures & treatments
Clinique Louis Pasteur is a pluridisciplinary facility.
Below, you will find the detail of its main activities.
- All the physicians within our structure developed a system to insure the continuity of the care 24 hours a day. All these doctors can intervene, if needed, with all the hospitalized patients allowing an adapted care.
Several types of hospitalization can be proposed to you :
- A conventional hospitalization or inpatient: the proposed treatment requires to stay several days.
- Ambulatory or outpatient : the medical care or the intervention is realized within a day.
Resuscitation and Continuous Care Units
The Resuscitation Unit allows the coverage care of the patients presenting a failure of one or several vital organs.
This department has a 24/7 presence of medical and paramedical staff (nurse, nurse's aide), allowing us to welcome intra and extra-hospital life-threatening emergencies and, to provide the technical platform that can compensate for vital organs disfunctionning, such as artificial ventilation, renal disabilities (dialysis), circulatory support and artificial feeding.
Continuous Care Units
Medical and Surgical Continuous Care Units allow continuous monitoring of vital parameters and admit postoperative patients or patients with risk of organ failure.
Cardiology (heart and arteries)
The medical centre wanted to develop all medical activities of Cardiology, enabling the physicians to organize a personalized and appropriate care for all their patients.
Emergency :
- Intensive care Unit of Cardiology with presence of a cardiologist 24 hours a day, allowing the hospitalisation in emergency of patients presenting acute heart pain (infarction, major arrhythmia...).
- Immediate hospitalisation in angiography for the patients sent by EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE with an established diagnosis and who require an immediate medical care in angiography for the realization of coronary angiography and coronary dilatation if necessary.
- 2 rooms of interventional angiography with a senior cardiologist guard 24 hours a day dedicated to this activity.
- Center of Thoracic Pain (Centre of Chest Pain) welcoming patients sent by their regular doctor allowing, in a few hours, the establishment of the diagnosis of a pain in the chest.
Planned Admission :
- 2 hospitalization units and 1 Continuous Care Unit of Cardiology : for close monitoring for complex procedures or fragile patients
What are the different interventions performed ?
Angiography and / or dilation of all arteries with prosthetic (Stent).
Others :
- Laboratory of non-invasive cardiovascular explorations (stress test, cardiac and vascular ultrasound, transesophageal echocardiography, Holter ECG and ABPM, VO2 Max, ...)
- Outpatient Rehabilitation Center that offers the patients after their hospitalization, adapted program such as physical training, nutrition workshop…
Vascular surgery (arteries & veins)
A team of vascular surgeons is practicing within our facility for several years and has developed :
In ambulatory, the corrective surgery of the venous incapacity (varicose).
The patients are admitted in the morning and discharged in the evening on the day of medical intervention.
In complete hospitalization, arthritis.
The surgical treatment is realized by conventional surgery or by endovascular state-of-the-art techniques (dilation, aortic stent).
Which are the various interventions performed ?
- Cure of aneurysm of the abdominal aorta,
- Surgery of the carotid,
- Femoral bypass etc…
The patients can also benefit from a medical care in the Rehabilitation Centre following their hospitalization.
Urology (baldder, prostate, kidney)
Patients can be admitted as inpatient or outpatient according to the pathology.
Which are the various interventions performed ?
- Prostate and bladder surgery
- Incontinence
- kidney surgery, ablation of med stone (Lithotrity)
- Laser surgery
- Coelioscopic surgery
Urologic emergencies are also admitted either for medical treatment during renal colic or for surgery. Our urologists' team also intervenes, if needed, with all the patients hospitalized if urinary disorders are encountered by the patients.
The gastric system
The diagnosis and treatment of gastric disorders are often punctuated by check-ups, more or less severe, made either as an outpatient or inpatient by our medical gastroenterologists.
When this medical check up requires an endoscopic examination, it is done in the endoscopic service composed of 3 block rooms. Gastroscopy, duodenoscopy or colonoscopy are performed depending on the diagnosis sought. Gastroenterologists also take care of chronic disease, Crohn's disease or chemotherapy for example.
The chemotherapy is prepared in a specific unit located within the service of pharmacy. This preparation unit is subject to frequent controls (control of air, surfaces...) to ensure the production of different treatments. If they wish, patients undergoing chemotherapy can benefit from a multidisciplinary follow-up and meet our paramedical teams for support (nurses, dietitians, psychologists or social workers).
When surgical treatment is decided, the gastroenterologists entrust their patients to the gastric surgical team. In consultation with patients and their families, a medical intervention may be decided.
What are the different interventions performed ?
- Cœlioscopic bladder surgery
- Intestines, stomach, liver surgeries and others…
Glossary :
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive technique for diagnosis or to carry out a medical intervention on the abdominal cavity. It is frequently used in general surgery, gynecological and urological surgery. Our institution has three devices to develop the technique. Laparoscopy, can be used when it presents real advantages for the patient: a smaller scar, faster recovery, reduced loss of blood and a return home earlier ... ..
These interventions may require post-operative care in intensive care or continuing care units. Your physician will notify it to you as soon as this possibility becomes serious.
Some surgeries such as bariatric surgery (obesity, gastric banding) require medical care and supervision, dietary and psychological follow-up before and after the intervention. To facilitate this support and this follow-up consultations with specific time slots have been created allowing you easy access and personalized care.
Our surgeons are also specialized in gynecological surgery (ovarian cysts, hysterectomy, etc...) which, under certain conditions and circumstances, can be performed under laparoscopy.
Kidney diseases
This unit takes care of the patients affected by severe kidney insufficiency for sessions of hemodialysis. These sessions are placed under the responsibility of our team of nephrologists.
17 stations allow us to welcome the patients. We also have the capacity to realize sessions in emergency. The patients come to the unit 3 times a week and benefit from sessions of hemodialysis of an average duration of 4 hours.
Hospitalization beds are also available to realize renal/kidney medical exams for example or for the creation of fistulas venous artery (surgical technique generally associated with the treatment by hemodialysis). The patients are then directed towards our vascular surgeons or "cheched-up" by our cardiologists or the other physicians if necessary.
Our nephrologists are also consulted and called when kidney biological exams are perturbed, and it is the case for any other patient hospitalized in our facility.
A clear and structured information is proposed to all the patients that must benefit in the short term, from a treatment for their kidney insufficiency.
Orthopaedic surgery, hand surgery and neurosurgery
The development of microsurgical techniques has allowed the development of a rapid medical care or procedures to certain treatments or investigations. Examples of it are the operation of carpal tunnel or arthroscopy for the treatment of the meniscus. A majority of these medical acts require a stay of less than 12 hours in our medical centre.
Our surgeons have also developed strong skills in the surgical treatment.
What are the different interventions performed ?
- Herniated disc or cervical complex
- Foot surgery as the treatment of valgus hallus ..
- Ligament of the knee, ankle,
- Knee, hip, shoulder replacement
This type of surgery is most often associated with early rehabilitation achieved with our team of physiotherapists. These performed regular monitoring, the implementation of daily exercises and advices provided help you recover your autonomy.

- Cornea transplant
As in all other disciplines, more or less long stays can be scheduled, going from a few hours to a few days.
Plastic and cosmetic surgery
This speciality requires further specialized studies of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Plastic surgery specialists define their actions as surgical operations to improve the appearance of one of the outside parts of the body. It can either be necessary or "optional".
Specific consultations, with your surgeon, will respond to your questioning. You will then come to our facility, for the programmed operation.
